In 2017 I ran 63 marathons in 63 days across the UK.  One of the places I didn’t get to was Ireland. So what better way to make up for it than to run around it.

750 miles. 21/09/18 – 27/10/18. #NikkiLoveRunsIreland

This is often the first question I’m asked when talking about my adventures, and this adventure is no exception.  I’m very passionate about the causes I ‘m representing on this adventure.  Raising money for a charities that I believe in, having a primary schools program that encourages kids to think big and work together as a team. and last but not least, having an adventure that people can join me on are my main whys to motivate me and keep me going.

I’m so pleased and proud to be partnering with the 401 Foundation and Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland to raise money for them.

The 401 Foundation – Having met, received invaluable advice and then ran many hours with the ultra-athlete and founder of the 401 Foundation, Ben Smith, I truly believe in The 401 Foundation’s mission – to support small grass root projects, and individuals to build confidence and self-esteem, tackle mental health and self-development issues.

Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland – When I run I want to provide help and assistance to local communities. As much of this run is through the Republic of Ireland, I want the money that I raise locally here to have the most impact locally.  I was introduced to SBHi through another ultra-runner and local Irish athlete, Shane Finn.

My hope is that this adventure can raise as much money and provide as much help towards these two wonderful charities as possible.

How to donate

There are two ways in which you can donate.

  • By clicking the link that goes straight to the online donation pages for each of the charities, or
  • By joining me on the virtual event.  See how far you can ‘Run Around Ireland’ by the end of 2018.

The proceeds from the virtual event entry fee goes to the relevant charity. For people based in UK & NI the money goes to the 401 Foundation. For people based in ROI (and rest of the world) the money goes to SBHi.

Thank you for your support.

I’m lucky in that I was brought up on activity.  Since the age of 4 I’ve been a runny, bouncy, jumpy thingy.  My ‘thing’ until age 16 was ballet.  I then crossed over into aerobics, gym, triathlon and running.  Running is most definitely my passion, and my purpose is to encourage and inspire others to fall in love with being active. I’m especially keen to encourage kids to be runny, bouncy, jumpy thingys and I believe this adventure is a way to show that being consistent and doing a little everyday will get you places.

If you would like further information and details of how your school can join, please click the link to the left and send an email over. We’ll get back to you asap.

My love and thanks go to these brands … they’re support, product and kit help me to do what I do.
